Taking The Proper Amount Of Time
Sometimes legislation gets pushed through at a nearly breakneck pace. When this happens many people dont have time to properly join the debate. We have been working lately on ways to extend the legislative process to ensure everyone can get their money into the discussion. The current health care reform bills are a prime example of our hard work. The number of special interest clients rose from just 398 in the first quarter of 2009 to 1,541 by the end of the fourth quarter.
Thanks to the LD-2 lobbying reports we can report accurate figures on just how good the growth was over the year. And things are only getting better, at the end of the fourth quarter of 2009 just over $1.1 billion has been spent on lobbying for or against the healthcare reform bills. The biggest side effect of all our hard work is job creation. Throughout all of this over 5300 lobbyists have worked on the matter. While many other job sectors are feeling the crunch of the current economy we the United States Congress are keeping lobbyists gainfully employed.
